CANSA: Leading the fight against cancer in South Africa

CANSA Shavathon is one of South Africa’s best-loved events in support of a worthy cause. This is the 9th national CANSA Shavathon, independently managed by CANSA staff and volunteers. Losing one’s hair is a common side-effect of cancer therapy – so shaving your head has become a symbolic gesture of support for cancer survivors.
Colouring your hair or paying a Bail Out Fee have become options for those who prefer not to shave. Or become actively engaged and make a difference by signing up as a volunteer.
CANSA Shavathon was being held in over 300 workplaces and organisations on  the 1 & 2 March 2012, and in over 200 shopping centres on 3 & 4 March 2012

Was truly an amazing experience to be part of... Joy Davison showed her support by shaving all her hair! What courage and heart she showed and all for a good cause!! Thank you for doing it with a smile, much Respected!

Cape Town Weekend - MR SA 2012

What an amazing weekend it was. Thanks to Zane for a very professional organized schedule!
We were blessed with amazing weather the whole weekend and we kicked off with a bang on Llandudno Beach for our Official MR SA photo shoot with well renowned photographer Clinton Lubbe…
Places we visited was the Gold museum, Robben island, Table Mountain , Moyo – Eden on the Bay, Gugulethu Square and also  a great organization who help develop and encourage children to reach their full potential .
Must say it was truly an eye opener once again that we need to appreciate more the little things in life that matters. I was inspired looking into the eyes of those young children and seeing the hunger to learn and to reach their goals!!
Sometimes just a smile and a little bit of our time and words can make such an Huge positive impact in people’s lifes!
Thanks to Park Inn Hotel , Ikapa Tours & Travels , Herbex , Nedbank, One & Only Hotel for the hampers and sponsorships!!

My Dream & Vision for 2012!

2012 Has kicked off on a very good note for me!
I Have set my goals clear and high for this year. Even though I don’t believe in new year’s resolutions but more in Life Resolutions this will be a BIG one for me.
I had an amazing festive season with my family and friends and also did a  tour with the USN team to all the beach touch tournaments as a Mr SA Finalist and USN Ambassador telling people about living a healthy balanced lifestyle. Was very fortunate to be a judge at most of Miss Touchies competitions on tour with Roxy Louw & Deon Bing!

Sometimes we forget how fortunate we are to wake up in the morning to be able to see , walk, smile, talk and do what we want to do but yet still complain about small stuff.

This year I like to challenge everyone to shift their attention just to the positive things in their lives and to be grateful for that! Work hard, be disciplined and don’t stand back for anything or anyone.

We all need to have clear visions and goals, that’s what's driving you and keeping you focused!

Big challenges ahead for me this year, joining the USN team full time and will be starting a whole new life in Pretoria in February. The Lord has blessed me with so many opportunities and I’m just gonna be pushing forward and follow my passion.

How you treat yourself sets the standards for others, and this is my mission in life to let my actions do the talking and set the boundaries! A message that I want to share with everybody is that while you out there messing around , partying and just having fun, someone somewhere is working hard, someone is getting smarter and making a difference…… I know I don’t want to fall behind, I want to be the pace setter and always be one step ahead!
Opportunities is all around us and we need to be ready when that 1 comes across your path!

So excited for this year, full of passion and ready to make a positive impact…

Remember the 3 D’s to SUCCESS:

DISCIPLINE
DEDICATION
DETERMINATION
